worshipmatters.com
As I was reading through some of Bob Kauflin's blog I ran across a quote that I thought was rather insightful, he says,
"Ironic, isn’t it? One of my motives for writing a blog on worshiping God seems to be gaining glory for myself. Come to think of it, one of my motives for almost everything I do seems to be gaining glory for myself."
Wow, talk about honesty!

Silence in Worship
I just finished reading an article about simply being silent during a worship service (click here to view the article, it is point #8), it was a good article and it brought to my attention a few Bible verses that I was previously unaware of. Anyways, I thought I would post a few of the verses (emphasis added):
Habakkuk 2:20 (ESV)
"But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him."
Zephaniah 1:7 (ESV)
"Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is near; the LORD has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated he guests."
Zechariah 2:13 (ESV)
"Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."

70 Extremists Chase Lady Missionaries
Two young women from a Gospel for Asia Bible college ask for your prayers after they were chased and threatened.
The incident happened after the women conducted a worship service in Orissa, India, where they are serving their internships.
On Sunday, a group of 70 anti-Christian extremists, carrying sticks and stones, entered the building where the women were worshiping with 15 other believers. Click here to read about how God protected them (GFA).

The Good Life
Psalm 16:2 "I say to the LORD, 'You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.'" (ESV)
Finding what "the good" is, and then pursuing it (resulting in the "Good Life") has been the goal of philosophy since the time of Socrates. From his time, to ours many different answers to this question have been proposed, everything from pleasure (Epicurious's answer) to contemplation (Aristotle's answer). In this part of the Bible, King David states that there is no good apart from God (and not just any god, but the God, Yahweh). He answers the age old question, "What is the Good Life?" by stating that there is no good apart from God.
If one has no good apart from the God, then why spend any time or energy pursuing things aside from the God. Good is only found in God, the Good Life is found by knowing God and being known by Him. Not only that, but the Psalmist continues, "The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply." (Psalm 16:4). Pursuing other gods (such as, sports, ministry, family, friends, books et cetera) will only multiply ones sorrow. That certainly is not the epitome of the Good Life.
Good is found only in God, and sorrow is the only thing found outside of God. Why then would anyone (especially professing Christians) waste their time and energy pursuing anything but God?

Correction
Correction, copying and pasting my paper, while still retaining a proper structure has proved to be more difficult that I thought it would be... so, for now that original idea is being scrapped.
Introduction
Howdy. To all of my thousands (no, millions) of fans who have been waiting so patiently for me to start a blog (just kidding). I figure I will commence my blogging by posting a paper I recently wrote about Romantic Love. Hence, the next post will be the first installment of this paper.
