worshipmatters.com

As I was reading through some of Bob Kauflin's blog I ran across a quote that I thought was rather insightful, he says,

"Ironic, isn’t it? One of my motives for writing a blog on worshiping God seems to be gaining glory for myself. Come to think of it, one of my motives for almost everything I do seems to be gaining glory for myself."

Wow, talk about honesty!

Silence in Worship

I just finished reading an article about simply being silent during a worship service (click here to view the article, it is point #8), it was a good article and it brought to my attention a few Bible verses that I was previously unaware of. Anyways, I thought I would post a few of the verses (emphasis added):

Habakkuk 2:20 (ESV)
"But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him."

Zephaniah 1:7 (ESV)
"Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is near; the LORD has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated he guests."

Zechariah 2:13 (ESV)
"Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."

70 Extremists Chase Lady Missionaries

Two young women from a Gospel for Asia Bible college ask for your prayers after they were chased and threatened.

The incident happened after the women conducted a worship service in Orissa, India, where they are serving their internships.

On Sunday, a group of 70 anti-Christian extremists, carrying sticks and stones, entered the building where the women were worshiping with 15 other believers. Click here to read about how God protected them (GFA).
